The website of de betevé has echoed our show in the The circus's Christmas campaign in Barcelona. The Historical Raluy Circus presents his new show these days in Barcelona Mountebank, a production that pays tribute to the founder of the circus saga, Carlos Raluy. The production deviates from the conventional from the start: there is no curtain, and the performers burst onto the stage through the historic carriages surrounding the big top, creating an atmosphere that transports the audience to a bygone era.
Own Carlos Raluy, the company's co-director, explains that the work is inspired by the lives of acrobats at the beginning of the 20th century, when his father traveled the world as a performer. "It's dedicated to our father. The family's passion has always been to preserve the traditional circus," he says proudly.
La essence of the Raluy Historic Circus remains intact: an intimate, carefully curated show, in which fifty artists participate who remain faithful to the classical circus traditionAlthough the shows have been updated over the years, the company retains a unique personality that sets it apart from larger-scale modern productions. "Contemporary circus uses mass choreography and spectacular lighting. We're committed to a different way of moving the audience," adds Raluy.
Beyond the spectacle under the tent, Mountebank It concludes with a visual tour of the century-old caravans that accompany the troupe. Many of them are over a hundred years old and have become rolling museum pieces, witnesses to a family legacy that is reinvented with each generation.
With this production, Circ Raluy reaffirms its commitment to tradition, the memory of its origins, and the transmission of circus magic to new generations, keeping alive a unique cultural heritage.
