Agora Award
The Agora Prize is an award presented at the Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival . This prize was created by Javier Marchante, in collaboration with Rosana Torres and Andrés Peláez, to recognize and honor prominent figures in classical theatre and related entities, such as the Raluy Historical Circus.
Among the Ágora Award recipients is Manuel Canseco, a renowned director and playwright, who also received the Tirso de Molina Award and was honored at the Golden Age Theater Conference in Almería.
The Agora Award is part of the Almagro Festival's initiatives to highlight the work of professionals who contribute to the enrichment and dissemination of classical theatre, consolidating its relevance in the Spanish cultural scene.
Almagro International Classical Theater Festival
The Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival is one of the most prestigious events dedicated to Golden Age theatre in the world. Held annually in the city of Almagro, in the province of Ciudad Real, Spain , its main objective is the dissemination, preservation, and reinterpretation of classical works, especially those written in the 16th and 17th centuries.
